Sydney Rome of Yorba Linda High in California finished second in the 2-mile girls junior race in 12:11.8 at the Fastback Invitational in the first cross country meet held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut since the 2019 Foot Locker West Regionals. Rome ran the fourth-fastest time overall from all four sections combined for Yorba Linda, which earned 15th overall as a team with 349 points.
