Nicole Alfred, a 10th-grader at Rancho Cucamonga High, won the girls large school sophomore 1.83-mile race in 11:23.1 at the Fastback Invitational at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. The course consisted of two Valley loops, running up Switchbacks, then down National Guard Alley, followed by a right turn up the airstrip and another right turn into the gauntlet.
