Kael Jex, an 11th-grader at Big Bear High in California, won the boys small school junior race at the Fastback Invitational, covering the 1.7-mile layout in 10:33.1 for the fastest male performance of the meet from all races combined at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Jex secured his third consecutive Fastback Invitational victory, also winning freshman and sophomore small school races the past two seasons.
