Ethan Romero of Citrus Valley High placed second in the 2-mile boys junior race in 10:11.4 at the Fastback Invitational in the first cross country event held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut since the 2019 Foot Locker West Regionals. Romero was fourth overall from all four sections combined for Citrus Valley, which took third with 143 points.
