Kael Jex of Big Bear High in California won the 2-mile boys freshman race in 10:49.2 at the Fastback Invitational in the first cross country event held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut since the 2019 Foot Locker West Regionals. Jex was one of two individual winners for Big Bear, along with senior Max Sannes (9:46.3), who achieved the fastest time overall. Jex was 21st overall from all four sections combined.
